I've just arrived home from a fantastic day at the IFI. I've run zine workshops many times before but not with children, so today was a real treat. The children were aged 7-11 and were such a fun group to work with. Unlike adults and teenagers, the children were totally unafraid to use their imagination and to let their creativity flow. After explaining to them what zines were, I introduced the movie theme and showed them my example -a zine about the movie Home Alone. All the children chose their favourite movie and got to work. It was a lot of fun showing them my old typewriter and letting them use it, they had never even seen one before. Here is some of the work they produced!
